Ottawa University seniors Matt Gross and Lauren Buckles were crowned as 2012 Homecoming King and Queen prior to kickoff at the Homecoming football game on October 27. Gross, from Blue Springs, Kansas, is the son of Kim and Bill Gross. He is an accounting major and a member of the Braves football team. Buckles, from Gardner, Kansas, is the daughter of David Buckles and Mark and Julie Sutton. She is an elementary education major, a resident assistant and is involved in Fellowship of Christia

Retired Ministers’ Luncheon

Retired American Baptist ministers came together last semester for this annual luncheon in the Mowbray Student Union. The luncheon included entertainment by the University Jazz Singers, a Universitywide update and a benediction led by Dr. Rich Menninger, Andrew B. Martin professor of religion. In Memoriam – Ronnie Small

A fixture on the Ottawa University campus for 15 years, Ronnie Small retired as an OU custodian in 2007. Prior to that, he was a meter reader for the City of Ottawa for 20 years. A graduate of Ottawa High School and a lifelong Ottawa resident, Ronnie was married to Mary Lois Bell for 30 years before their divorce. He was a member of Bethany Chapel Baptist Church and past master of Corinthian Lodge No. 12, Free & Accepted Masons of Ottawa. He is survived by four sons and two daughters.
