The Ottawa University Musical Theatre course serves to introduce students to a variety of musical theatre productions in the pre-golden, golden and postgolden ages of musical theatre. Seven area high schools were invited to enjoy OU’s first-ever High School Jazz Invitational Workshop, where they received hands-on instruction from the University’s jazz faculty. Throughout the course of the day, students were introduced to life on campus, complete with a campus tour and a meal in the dining commons. At the end of the day, each group shared one piece they had prepared. The University jazz ensembles also shared several selections.

The Ottawa University Theatre Department presented “Clue: The Musical” as its fall music production. One of the highlights of the production was the audience participation in a “who dunnit” game while watching the show.
