This year marked the second annual DECA Haunted Hike 5k event, which is organized by the OU student DECA group. The event took place Saturday, October 6, with proceeds benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Matt Bollig family. Bollig, an OU transfer student and Braves quarterback, suffered a spinal cord injury in a weight room incident during a summer workout with the Braves football team. On July 10, 2012, the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation awarded Ottawa University a $750,000 challenge grant toward the University’s new Gangwish Library and Gibson Student Center slated as part of its $24.3 million Advancing the Vision Campaign.
