Traditionally held in February, Ottawa University’s annual Adventures in Faith (AIF) event was redesigned in several ways in 2012. The first modification was a move from winter to fall, this year on September 26-28, to make the event more impactful for students early in the academic year, as well as to minimize the possibility of inclement weather. Coordinated by the athletic department and sponsored by the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame, athletes and the whole student body were given the opportunity to hear former NBA and University of Kansas (Hall of Fame) basketball player Wayne Simien on Thursday night in the Fredrikson Chapel when he spoke on “Identity Crisis.”

Vespers

TThe traditional Vespers service at Ottawa University took place Sunday, December 9, in the Fredrikson Chapel. During the service, the OU Orchestra and Concert Choir performed featured works by Johann Strauss, Sr., Louis-Claude Daquin, Aurelius Clemens Prudentius, George Frideric Handel, William Byrd, Mozart, and Thomas Campion. The program included passages from the traditional reading of the Nativity story, as well as audience participation in the singing of familiar Christmas carols.
