Celebrate Soccer

We invite you to pay tribute to two Ottawa University soccer legends on October 24 and 25 during two events at this year’s Homecoming.

Coach Bob Schoonover (’65-’71) and the late Coach Tony Van Leiden (’65-’82) will be honored at halftime of the “Legends of Soccer” games on October 24 when the Braves and Lady Braves take on Friends University. The two coaches will also be honored on Thursday night, October 25, when they are inducted into the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame (registration required).

Both of these coaches were highly instrumental in the soccer program’s early successes. The weekend will also include an alumni soccer scrimmage and special recognitions.

5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Women’s and Men’s Soccer vs.

Friends University

Coaches Schoonover and Van Leiden and All Decade teams will be recognized between games.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

2:00 p.m. Men’s Alumni Soccer Scrimmage

6:30 p.m. Induction of Coach Bob Schoonover and Coach Tony Van Leiden into the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame
