The Ottawa University Theatre Department presented “Clue: The Musical” as its fall music production. One of the highlights of the production was the audience participation in a “who dunnit” game while watching the show.
The cast included students Matt Merrill, Rebecca Campbell, Luke Parnell, Regan Aeschliman, Charlie McMichael, Rachel Snow, Jamel Toliver, and Brittany Fain.
“For the actors, it was a fun challenge to have multiple endings,” said Director Julie Noonan. “We had great attendance and audiences enjoyed playing the game as the show progressed. In an age where audiences are often distracted by texting and other mobile media devices, I observed the audience paying really close attention to every scene so that they could figure out the mystery.”
Three audience members each night were asked to draw one card from three different decks (suspects, rooms and weapons). Those three cards were placed inside an extra large manila envelope and raised above the set. At the conclusion of the show, the envelope was lowered and the answers were revealed.
More than 300 people attended the show, which included a different ending each night.
