The inaugural KCAC Cheer and Dance Exhibition was held at Ottawa University’s Wilson Field House in March, and OU’s Dance Team was named as the Outstanding Dance Team. Five KCAC institutions – Bethany College, Ottawa University, Southwestern College, Tabor College, and the University of Saint Mary – took part, with Bethany taking the Outstanding Cheer Team trophy and Saint Mary earning the Outstanding Mascot title.

for the new Spirit Coordinator Regina Smith is in her first season as spirit team coordinator at Ottawa University. Prior to coming to OU™, Smith spent three years as the spirit coordinator and head cheer, dance and mascot coach at Thiel College (TC) in Greenville, Pennsylvania. At Thiel, an NCAA Division III institution, Smith recruited more than 50 students for the cheer and dance teams. Under Smith’s leadership, the dance team had the number one GPA in the Thiel Athletic Department.
