During the first football game Logan Schultz ever played as a Brave, he made an impressive tackle on kickoff. The Ottawa University Braves Football team and fans participated in the Pork and Pigskins Preview fundraiser on April 14 at Peoples Bank Field. Participants gathered for a pre-game barbecue competition followed by a youth football obstacle course. After that the football team took part in the annual Black and Gold Football Scrimmage.
